GEORGE WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL
CLASS OF 1965

George Washington High School, Class of 1965
Where brains, imagination, and creativity did thrive.
Now again together, with much happiness and cheers,
Recounting cherished memories, after passing 40 years.
We would be remiss indeed, if we did not take the time,
To record our 40th Reunion with a nice and memorable rhyme.
So sit back and enjoy, for better or for worse,
For your listening pleasure, we have penned this little verse.
We parted after graduation, and went our separate ways,
We each have had our highs and lows, our sad and happy days.
But one bond shall always join us, it is even present yet so gentle.
Our common bond will always be our time at George Washington.
Were those days really so long ago, maybe it's just a dream,
Maybe we're still in High School, rooting for the football team,
And studying for that math test, planning for the Prom,
And avoiding even more trouble with our teachers, Dad and Mom.
Those days will live forever, in our thoughts and in our minds,
George Washington High School will always be the tie that binds.
As we all enjoyed the last Reunion, looked around, what did we see,
Is it not amazing, everybody changed but me!
Though time could have been kinder, I still have lots of power,
Although what used to take some minutes few, not takes at least an hour!
We won't get any older, because we all will do our part,
To remain youthful in our spirit, and young in mind and heart.
We must definitely remember, this one ever present fact.
It is not how old we feel, but just how old we act!
We do know how to party, no one has more fun,
Our G. W. Class of '65 will always be Number 1!
So seize the day, enjoy good cheer, we will jam and we will jive,
And, for sure, we'll all return for Reunion 45!
